Meet the team

Rob grew up in Bray, Ireland and moved to Boston in 2000 when he became a well known, friendly face in the industry.  Rob is a co-owner in Cityside Bar on Beacon Street in Cleveland Circle as well as The Port Tavern in Newburyport.  Many of the local community recognize him from being the General Manager and Head Bartender at the Playwright.  Rob cherishes his roots in Ireland and his new experiences here in South Boston.  In celebration and honor of those who have helped him along the way, Rob has chosen to name his business after his mother’s maiden name.  He has looked up to her as the anchor of his family and a clever women who is both generous and modest.  Both Rob and his mother Geraldine Lyons (now Fitzharris) shared an emotional moment when Rob could show her his restaurant with her name out in front.

Ian grew up in Detroit and moved to Boston in 2008 where he continued his life-long devotion to the restaurant industry and made a name for himself in the greater Boston area.  Working as the General Manager at Southside Tavern in Briantree, Ian grew a reputation as a well-trusted and highly professional restaurant manager.  He’s thrilled to call Roza Lyons his own working alongside his trusted friends.  Owning his own place, Ian feels the pride of the culmination of years in the industry starting as a dishwasher in Detroit at 16 years old. In memory of his mother, Kandy Roza, Ian has created a cocktail named “Kandy Rose.”  100% of the proceeds from this drink will be donated to the American Cancer Society in Kandy’s memory.

Marcos moved to Boston in 2008 from Brazil (or Brasil as they call it down there!) He has made a name for himself in the industry for both his team approach and undying willingness to help.  Marcos was incredibly excited to be a part of Roza Lyons and build the entire menu himself for the first time.  He’s looking forward to more culinary creativity and very excited to surprise us all with the next menu.
